Trevor Harrison LLB was born in 1954; he was called to the Bar in 1978 and practised at the Common Law Bar. In 1980 he joined one of the International Group of P&I Clubs (mutual insurers of marine risk) and later worked for a firm of marine consultants before joining what is now one of the world's largest independent suppliers of marine and aviation fuels where he acts as European in-house counsel. Trevor is a supporting member of the London Maritime Arbitrators Association (LMAA) and was largely responsible for devising the International Bunker Industry Association's Rapid Resolution mediation and arbitration schemes. His principal professional experience is as a litigator and dispute resolver dealing successfully with most aspects of maritime commerce, shipping and international trade, including cargo claims, bill of lading, charter-party, bunkering and other contract related disputes. His mediation experience also lies principally in this field. Additionally, Trevor has practical experience of managing information technology (IT) and communications systems including supervision over a number of years of the development of a complex, multi-currency commodities-trading system. He was recently involved in successfully mediating a multi-million pound dispute concerning the delivery of IT systems as part of a major PFI project in the NHS. Trevor is a CEDR Accredited and Registered mediator, with Central London County Court experience. He is also a qualified community mediator and a member of Mediation UK. Trevor's outside interests include horse riding, historic transport, computing, the performing arts and sailing. | |
