Steven was born in 1949. He attended Cambridge University, where he gained a first class degree in mathematics, and the LSE where he gained a master’s degree in mathematical economics and econometrics.

Steven qualified as a solicitor in 1978 and spent most of his career at Frere Cholmeley where he became head of the corporate department before becoming managing partner. He co-led the foundation of Forsters LLP.

Steven's specialities relate to his considerable experience as a corporate lawyer. He advises institutions and the corporate sector on legal structures for equity and debt financing and on reorganisations to meet adverse conditions. He has a wide knowledge of company and partnership law and has resolved difficult shareholding and partnership issues. He has acted in large multinational transactions as well as those involving smaller family businesses.

Steven is a CEDR accredited mediator and has successfully used his negotiating and analytical background and his problem solving skills to good effect.

Steven's interests outside the law and corporate matters include music, politics and the varied activities of his lively family.
