His 25 years of employment with multinational corporations enable him to understand the tactics, strategies and thinking of big business. He maintains his commercial work: he is a financial advisor to companies in the UK and Eastern Europe and makes frequent business trips to Russia. He is also multi-cultural and understands the differing approaches of different nationalities and people, including men and women, to commerce, negotiation and problem-solving. He held senior positions as a negotiator and marketer with Royal Bank of Canada, Allied Irish Bank and Lloyds Bank International. During that time he lived and worked in countries as varied as Belgium and Russia, Germany and Mexico, Switzerland and the US, and spent extensive periods working in Russia and Central Europe. Accredited by CEDR as a commercial mediator in 1999, he has worked as an independent mediator since May 2002. He is an accredited panel member for the Academy of Experts, ADR Group, CEDR, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, City Disputes Panel and InterMediation, and a member of CEDRs teaching faculty. He trains for CEDR and other providers. He has carried out more than 200 mediations to date and is recognised as one of the UKs most experienced court scheme mediators. As well as mediating in banking and finance disputes, David has extensive experience in breaches of contract, landlord and tenant, leases, personal injury inheritance tax, professional indemnity, capital gains tax, probate, insurance and partnership disputes. A linguist by background, he speaks fluent French, German, Russian and Spanish (as well as some Dutch) and has used all these languages in mediation work. In 2004 he successfully mediated the agreement of a royalty contract worth approx. US$180 million annually involving four multinational corporations with global reach. The mediation was carried out in English, German and French. David has also achieved a high rate of settlement when mediating disputes involving the Police and the Commission of Racial Equality involving allegations of wrongful arrest, false imprisonment, malicious prosecution, racial harassment and discrimination, trespass of goods, psychological damage, assault and rape. | |||||
