Dr Charles Turton was born in 1947 and has had a long and distinguished career in the medical profession, having gained a Diploma with distinction in General Biochemistry at University of London in 1967; MD, BS at University of London in 1970; MRCP (UK) in 1973; MD at London in 1980 and FRCP (London) in 1988. Having entered as Registrar at St Georges Hospital in 1973, he commenced lecturing at the Cardiothoracic Institute in 1976 and became the Senior Registrar at Brompton and Royal Free in 1978. He became Medical Director at Brighton Health Care NHS Trust in 1999, subsequently in a similar position at Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust in 2002. Charles is currently Consultant Physician, Respiratory and General Internal Medicine at Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals Trust. His special clinical interests have been in lung cancer and lung disease generally. Charles has experience of helping clinical teams in difficulty and has used mediation within the workplace. He became CEDR Accredited in 2004. Charles's outside interests are golf, gardening, donkeys, sailing and his family | |
